This British TV science-fiction series was shown on BBC. Gugu was famous for her character Tish Jones on the show on BBC. The character was twin sister of a character named Martha Jones. Her father was a used car dealer, and her mother was a homemaker. Her mother was born in Germany and immigrated to Germany to the United States as a young woman in the year 1958. She had been diagnosed with breast carcinoma in 1989. Handler grew up in the family of a Reform Judaism family. Her father was Jewish. Handler enjoyed a happy good, healthy and safe childhood in a good neighbourhood. Handler moved into Los Angeles when she was 19, in order to pursue a career in acting. Handler was a professional actress to support her. Handler aged 21 years of age and decided to pursue stand-up comics full time when she discovered her story telling skills. Handler began her professional career being a part of the only female Oxygen team, and starred in a TV show named Girls Behaving BADLY. The series was famous for its secret camera and practical joke. It ran from 2002 until 2005. The host began to appear on various other programs such including Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler started working as an associate for The Tonight Show. Her breakthrough came in 2006, when she was able to host her own program on E! called The Chelsea Handler show. The show ran for two seasons. Handler performed at The Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour at the American embassy the year after. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all broadcast her stand-up comedy shows. In 2010 she was selected to host the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. With this, she became the second woman in history to host VMA's after Roseanne Barr.
